Sabre fuels Egypt travel industry with innovative solutions

Sabre Corporation (NASDAQ: SABR) a leading global technology provider to the travel and tourism industry has unveiled the top technology trends shaping the future of travel in Egypt and the region. The trends were shared by Sabre experts at an industry event in Cairo, Egypt for regional and Egypt-based travel industry professionals. Sabre experts spoke about Online, mobile, personalization and big data as trends driving the transformation of travel and the traveler experience. 

“Egypt is a vital travel hub in the region, however the industry has faced significant challenges in recent years and today travel contributes about 15 percent GDP to the local economy, the lowest since 2008,” said Daniel Naumovitch, Sabre Travel Network CEO, Middle East. “Travel companies now need to find new ways to continue growing.  Embracing technology and keeping up with the latest innovations in mobile, online, big data, personalized services and social media will help travel agencies stay competitive and compete with regional and global players. Sabre’s investments in these emerging technologies are one way we are helping to empower the travel industry growth while ensuring passengers get a more personalized experience,” he said.  

Naoumovitch said consumers’ behaviors are changing rapidly and industry players should embrace technology to meet the increasing demands of these tech-savvy travelers, while experts from Sabre shared a future view of how mobile, online, data and personalization could be integrated into current travel agency systems to meet traveler’ expectations and drive greater loyalty and business results

These tech-savvy consumers  now expect travel to be easily accessible online, on their smartphones, and even wearable devices.  For travel businesses to succeed in this changing environment, it is vital to integrate these technologies into their roadmap and growth plan. .Sabre has an extended team in Egypt including a dedicated training and helpdesk team to support local customers.  Among many enhancements this year, Sabre has launched automation tools to increase agency productivity, and new travel protection solutions to help travel agents provide more flexible travel insurance support for travelers.
