Officials from the Kingdom visit Huawei Connect in Shanghai

HUAWEI CONNECT, Huawei's largest-ever integrated conference for the global ICT ecosystem, hosted several high-level delegations from Saudi Arabia’s Key government agencies and companies. Recently held in Shanghai, Huawei showcased its strategy to serve as a platform for growth and support strong alliances that push the industry forward and promote ongoing social progress. The conference attracted more than 20,000 industry professionals from over 120 countries. 

 

Themed "Shape the Cloud", Huawei Connect explored cloud era trends and how different industries can achieve digital transformation by adopting cloud technology and contributing to the cloud ecosystem. Delegates from Aljouf University, ALJ, Arab National Bank, Fawaz Albokair Co., HIDA, Ministry of Labor & Social Development, Riyadh Care Hospital, Saudi Electric Co., Saudi Post and others, observed the latest technology breakthroughs and best practices through 1,000 tech sessions and hands-on labs. The delegations were interested to hear how Huawei’s new ICT technologies - Cloud Computing, Big Data, Geographic Information System (GIS) and the Internet of Things (IoT), enable a digital transformation and a smart society.  

 

Ramadan Ding, CEO, Huawei Tech. Investment Saudi Arabia Co. Ltd., said: “In line with Saudi’s 2030 vision and Huawei’s commitment to support it, we were honored to host the extinguished government entities and companies from the Kingdom at Huawei Connect. We have successfully achieved our goal of sharing the knowledge, experience and providing the needed support towards the development of Saudi Arabia. The delegations were interested to hear how Huawei’s new ICT technologies - Cloud Computing, Big Data, Geographic Information System (GIS) and the Internet of Things (IoT), provide the framework for end-to-end Smart City solutions. Huawei demonstrated intelligent applications to enhance municipal management, improve government services, and promote the development of industry and the people. Throughout the three-day event, Huawei showcased its strategy to serve as a platform for growth, support strong alliances and promote ongoing social progress.

 

 

On day one of the event, Ken Hu, Huawei's Rotating CEO, explained the company’s aim to position itself as the enabler and driver of an intelligent world. The company will hold true to its culture of customer-centricity, focus on ICT infrastructure and provide innovative cloud technology. Throughout this process, Huawei aims to become a preferred partner that enables digital and cloud transformation.

 

On the third day of the event, Huawei Rotating CEO Guo Ping, Intel CEO Brian Krzanich, and Huawei Products & Solutions President Ryan Ding took center stage. Guo Ping's keynote focused on Huawei's concept of a cloud ecosystem, and the actions the company has taken to contribute to its development. Borrowing a rich set of metaphors from the natural world, Guo described Huawei's role as the "soil" and “energy” in the ICT ecosystem of a budding smart society. In this role, the company aims to serve as a platform for growth, and support strong alliances that push the industry forward and promote ongoing social progress. 

 

Several solutions were showcased during Huawei Connect 2016; the Integrated Communication Platform (ICP) is Huawei’s newest addition to its range of Safe City solutions featuring extensive connectivity and high visibility. The Agile Network 2016 solution uses Software-defined Networking (SDN) technology to shape the network architecture of the cloud era and to establish a firm foundation for the digital transformation of enterprises. FusionStorage 6.0, is designed to help customers address potential challenges arising from migration of their services to a cloud. The first full-scenario Agile Controller 3.0 (AC 3.0), which focuses on four business scenarios (enterprise campus, data center network, WAN, and IoT) and mprove the resource scheduling efficiency of enterprise cloud services, improving the network efficiency for carrier customers and providing the best customer experience possible. In addition to the New Financial Cloud Solution, the System OceanStor Dorado V3, and Enterprise Solution Partner Program.
