Cisco Connect to Focus on Digitization in Saudi Arabia

Cisco announced that the latest edition of its flagship technology forum for Saudi Arabia, Cisco Connect 2016, is taking place on May 18 and 19. The event is hosted by Cisco and key strategic partners and will be held at the Four Seasons Hotel in Riyadh.

Digitization is opening up a world of unprecedented opportunities and rapidly transforming our communities, our cities and our daily lives. Digital disruption is set to displace 4 in 10 traditional players in each industry within the next five years.

Cisco Connect 2016 will focus on how digitization and technological innovation is transforming organizations and businesses and redefining industries. The event underlines Cisco’s continued commitment to Saudi Arabia and will highlight the key role that digitization can contribute to Saudi Arabia’s drive to generate accelerated economic growth and employment opportunities.

“The importance of digitization to the future of industries, communities and countries cannot be overstated, particularly in Saudi Arabia, which is not only home to the largest ICT sector in the Middle East, but a market that holds immense potential for growth,” said Abdullah Alswaha, Managing Director, Cisco Saudi Arabia. “At Cisco Connect 2016, we aim to bring our global experience to bear by sharing insights into the unparalleled opportunities that exist for value creation and helping to unlock the substantial benefits digitization offers to the Kingdom.”

Cisco Connect 2016 offers a platform to experience Cisco’s latest solutions and technologies that are transforming businesses and driving the digital future. The signature event brings together top Cisco executives and some of the best and brightest thinkers and experts from across the ICT and business landscape to shed light on global technology trends, the Internet of Things and Cisco’s vision for the future.

Customers, media representatives and industry professionals will gain access to Cisco’s latest innovations in data center, collaboration, security, enterprise networking, and the Internet of Things (IOT). Attendees will also get the chance to engage with Cisco thought leaders and engineers about emerging and core technology solutions.

They will also be able to explore the broader Cisco partner’s ecosystem and meet one-on-one with Cisco partners to discuss specific technology challenges and how technology can help transform their organizations. Visitors to the event will also experience the “World of Solutions,” an interactive display that integrates product and technology demonstrations and cutting-edge solutions from Cisco and its partners.

Abdullah Alswaha, Cisco’s recently appointed Managing Director for Saudi Arabia, and Chris White, Senior Vice-President of Internet of Things and Internet of Everything at Cisco, will deliver the opening keynotes on the morning of 18 May.

Cisco Connect 2016 is supported by a number of sponsors including the event’s strategic ICT partner and internet provider, Saudi Telecommunications Company (STC), as well as Intel and BTC Networks, among others.
