Dubai Quality Group Concludes Emirates Women Awards 2018 by Honouring 12 Extraordinary

Under the theme “Wisdom, Goodness and Giving”, Dubai Quality Group concludes the 15thCycle of Emirates Women Awards (EWA), under the patronage of H.H. Shaikh Ahmad Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and Chief Executive Emirates Airline & Group, and the patronage of DQG. Emirates Women Award 2018 (EWA) honored 12local and expatriate women achievers from diverse fields of business and technology at Westin Dubai Al Habtoor City. The award was graced by Fatma Buti Al Mheiri,the first woman chairman of DQGBoard Members,VIPs, government officials, dignitaries and businesswomen from across UAE. 

Emirates Women Awardis one of the most important achievements of DQG which highlights the role of women in the UAE society. The award aims at recognizing & appreciating women in the UAE (both Nationals & Expatriates) for their outstanding contribution to the country, it was also a motivator, inspire and encourage the future generation of women to achieve their true potential by empowering their status in the society.

Fatma Buti Al Mheiri, Chairman, and Ahmed Al Mulla Vice chairmanhonored 12 winnersprofessional and business women were selected and verified by the prestigious EWA assessment jury after conforming to all criteria and conditions of the award. 

The ceremony was opened with the welcome speech of FatmaButi Al Mheiri, the first woman ChairmanDubai Quality Group, started with her warmest greetings to Excellences, DQG Board Members, Respected Jury Members, Award Assessors, Participants Sponsors, Media Partners, and distinguished guests for presence at the 15th cycle of the Emirates Women Award.

She addedThe UAE’s founding father, the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan (may God bless him and grant him peace), was a visionary leader, an inspirational man, who strongly advocated women's rights and highly emphasized her role in creating a healthy community, which contributes to a vibrant society…Along with the vital role played by Her Highness Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak (Mother of UAE) in supporting the women and elevating her position locally and globally, which has had a great impact on our country today.”

She addedThe leader, the Father, the Inspiration for Women of UAE, who has paid a rich tribute to Emirati women, describing them as Partners in Development, Mothers of Martyrs, and the Pride of the Nation; the vision of the Emirates Women Award highlights the role of women in the UAE society, and empowers professional & businesswomen in order to raise the awareness among UAE women to actively participate in the development of the country.”

She added“Women are fortunate to live in UAE – a nation that transforms dreams into reality – giving women the right to dream and supporting them to materialize their dreams. With the support and vision of the wise leadership, women have made great accomplishments in various sectors… They have held the highest executive leadership positions in public and private sectors. They have proven their ability to contribute effectively in social and economic development locally, regionally and globally.”

She added“As Emirati women, we hold a major responsibility towards our homeland & society to uphold our great heritage & history and in the building of its bright future in the coming years, and to make UAE among the ranks of countries those enjoy the highest levels of development, stability and safety.”

She added“The success of the Emirates Women's Award since 2003 has been the result of the inevitable support of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, the patron of the Award. His encouragement & support to women of all nationalities in the UAE is a driving motivational factor for us over the years, to contribute in our way in promoting and celebrating the achievements of women in the UAE.” 

She added“we hope our message is successfully passed on to the future generation of women, to encourage them to follow and fulfil their dreams, goals & ambitions. I believe that we will witness more successful women in the future, venturing into new areas of business and conquering new heights, contributing their part to creating a community that aspires to be the best globally.” …. She added“We feel delighted, honoured and proud to announce that the number of applicants to the award is increasing every year. With 150applications received, we have a 30% increase in participation to the award this year.”

This year the participation was phenomenal as reached 150participants includes100professionals and 50businesswomen. The winnerswere selected and verified by the prestigious EWA assessment jury after conforming to all criteria and conditions of the award. The Jury & Assessors was headed by H.E.Marwan Al Sawalehand lieutenant Colonel.Salah Al Marzooqi, Chief Assessor.

The Sponsors who have extended support and honoured are Dubai Electricityand Water Authority as main sponsor, British Orchard Nurseryas platinum sponsor, ARJMST as Trophy Sponsor, Dubai Media Inc.as Strategic Media Partner and Press Sector of Dubai Media Incas Media Partner.

The participants were judged based on their leadership skills, strategic and financial planning, career achievements, community contribution and innovation. The award was drawn into two main categories — business owners and professionals from government private sectors.
