Mercedes-Benz Vans MENA, together with Juffali Industrial Products Company (JIPCO), the exclusive General Distributor of Mercedes-Benz Vans in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, are showcasing the flagship Sprinter ambulance conversion equipped with state-of-the-art safety systems at the 4th Traffic Safety Forum and Exhibition.

 

Taking place from 11th - 13th December 2017 at the Sheraton Dammam Hotel & Towers, the forum covers traffic and transportation safety-related systems and aims to identify smart technologies that could be implemented in the region.

 

Traffic and transportation safety-related technologies have evolved through significant developments for the last two decades. In particular, Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) based technologies related to both automotive and smart traffic control systems aim to reduce fatalities, injuries and property damages due to traffic accidents. The Sprinter has been the large van segment leader since 1995, offering a wide range of customisation options as well as new assistance and safety systems which are benchmark in terms of product quality, safety and reliability, from a European OEM perspective.

The Sprinter is the safest van in the large van segment, offering five safety systems that deliver support in critical mobile emergency situations and safe patient transport services. Reliable vehicles such as the Sprinter are essential to keep patients and medical equipment safe during those critical moments between the accident sites and hospitals. The Crosswind Assist is fitted as standard equipment in all Sprinter model variants. Its sensors measure the force of the gusts of wind that come from the side. The system then counteracts these forces, leading to a significant reduction in driver stress. Drivers feel safer and more comfortable as a result, and they do not overreact to gusts of wind. The other four safety innovations are the Lane Keeping Assist, the Blind Spot Assist, the High Beam Assist and the Collision Prevention Assist which alerts the driver if the van is too close to another vehicle or an obstacle.
