VIPs and children welcome MathAlive! Exhibit Return to KSA

There was a high turnout by VIP guests and students for MathAlive!, the unique interactive math and science exhibit, during a special event today at Fakieh Planetarium. The traveling exhibition opens to the public on Thursday as part of an exciting three-month Jeddah summer stopover in partnership with Fakieh Leisure and Entertainment Group (Tarfeeh Fakieh), the Jeddah Science Center, Tatweer Educational Services, and Raytheon Company (NYSE: RTN), who created the exhibit. MathAlive!’s return to the Kingdom following its debut in 2014, also comes as Raytheon commemorates its 50th anniversary in Saudi Arabia.

MathAlive!’s opening ceremony was attended by Jamil Attar - Executive Director of Tarfeeh Fakieh and Raytheon International’s Saudi Arabia President Lou  P. Laroche. Other special guests included General Zaid bin Abdulaziz Al Shagroud, Commander of the Royal Saudi Air Defense Forces in Jeddah, and Mr. Abdullah Al Thagafy, General Manager of Education in Jeddah and representatives of Tatweer Education Holding Company. Event speakers were Tarfeeh Fakieh’s Executive Director and William M. Blake – Vice President RSADF Programs, Raytheon Integrated Defense in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Rounding out the standing-room only crowd were more than 60 students from leading Jeddah-based schools.

With the public opening scheduled for May 26, the exhibit will run at the Fakieh Planetarium for the summer season until the end of August.
