Zayed University celebrates the graduation of the 2023 "Future Makers" Cohort

Under the patronage and in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Zayed University celebrated the Graduation Ceremony of the 2023 “Future Makers.” The graduation ceremony consisted of 2128 Graduates & Undergraduates of the 21st Cohort of Female undergraduates, 11th Cohort of Male undergraduates and selected cohorts of Master graduates from seven ZU colleges. The graduation was an exceptional event held on Tuesday 20th and Wednesday 21st June, in the presence of the University’s Board of Trustees and VIP guests at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC). 

 

Her Excellency Noura bint Mohamed AlKaabi, Minister of State and President of Zayed University, extended her warmest congratulations to the graduates on their outstanding achievements. She underscored the significance of their role in shaping the future, stating, “We are proud of you, as you are the Future Makers for the next 50 years, following in the footsteps of the Founding Father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may his soul rest in peace, and are working towards the progress and advancement of the United Arab Emirates.” 

 

“We are confident that Zayed University’s role has prepared you for the challenges you will face in the workforce and to serve the needs of society. Zayed University is a beacon of enlightenment and growth for the UAE and the entire Arab world, as a leading community in scientific research and innovation,” she added.

 

The guest of honor, His Excellency Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy and Remote Work Applications, delivered a speech at the ceremony in which he emphasized that under the leadership of  His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, the country is seeking to accelerate progress and is more ambitious than ever. 

 

“The UAE government understands the importance of keeping pace with global developments in a rapidly changing world. Investing in human capital is the best investment we can make, and it is essential to prepare the next generation for the future. The government believes that young people have the ability to achieve anything, nothing is impossible. Congratulation to our graduates, and thank you Zayed University for shaping future leaders.”

 

 

 

Amid much excitement, Emirati Astronaut Sultan Al Neyadi, an embodiment of the spirit of exploration and ambition, addressed the graduates in a video from the International Space Station with words of inspiration. He said, “Congratulations on reaching this very special moment, it’s a truly blessed occasion and I wish you all the best in your future professional and academic endeavors.

 

As you can see, I am currently in space. It is important to acknowledge that education has been the driving force behind this incredible journey. Regardless of your aspirations, it is imperative that you equip yourselves with the power of education. Equip yourselves with knowledge and skills that will not only benefit you personally, but also bring happiness to your loved ones, contribute to the progress of your nation, and uphold the trust placed in you by your leaders. .”

 

The graduation ceremonies exemplified Zayed University's dedication to nurturing talent, promoting diversity, and fostering a vibrant intellectual community, which aligns with the national goals of UAE Centennial 2071. The University takes immense pride in the accomplishments of its graduates and their preparedness to embrace the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.
