Vision 2030 augurs well for transport sector, says expert

The royal orders issued by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman reveal a sense of wisdom, organization and coordination that coincides with the Saudi Vision 2030, said Saeed Al-Bassami, vice president of the National Transport Committee.

The 2030 Vision seeks to place the Kingdom on a progressive and developmental path with growth and prosperity for every citizen.
He said the royal orders represented a growing tendency toward administrative reform and pointed to a new strategy aimed at further coordination between all state sectors in accordance with the requirements of modern times.
The inclusion of the General Authority for Civil Aviation in the Ministry of Transport would strengthen the sector which is a main element of development, he said.
The transport sector, he noted, was the most promising investment sector in the Kingdom, with investments already exceeding SR 150 billion. It was a sector offering numerous job opportunities for Saudi youth.
“Such transformations and changes are clearly indicative of the next steps to be taken by the Kingdom in order to make it capable of competing against other countries.
They represent a smart and well-studied vision that keeps pace with the changes happening in the world today, and create a sense of stability and balance for the Kingdom at a time when political and economic changes, as well as security concerns, plague many countries of the world,” said Al-Bassami.
Referring to the keenness of the Kingdom’s wise leadership to take care of the country’s youth, he said they are the future of the Kingdom and its most valuable investments.
With this in mind, he referred to the positive steps taken by the Kingdom’s leadership, such as the amending the name of the General Presidency for Youth Welfare to the General Authority for Sports.
This is aimed at attracting the youth and boosting their intellectual, scientific and sports skills to help them contribute to the development of the nation and the protection of its assets, he said.
