UAE IAA Celebrates Hasaad Program’s 3rd Batch Graduation

On 29th December 2016 the third batch of graduates successfully completed their HASAAD training program and were awarded certificates at the graduation ceremony by UAE IAA in association with Higher College of Technology, Protiviti  and Powers Resources Corporation (PRC). The program provides in-depth knowledge and enhances the skills of participants in the field of internal audit. The ceremony was attended by Mr. Abdulqader Obaid Ali, UAE IAA Chairman, Mr. Ahmed Bassiouni, Managing Director at Protiviti Member Firm for Middle East Region., Mr. Ahmed Refaat Assistant Director at Protiviti , Ms. Naima Al Menhali Board Member of UAE IAA and Director of Internal Audit Petroleum Institute in Abu Dhabi,.

HASAAD is aligned with ABSHER, an initiative launched by H. H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The program is designed to impart technical training on 15 major topics related to internal audit , to develop overall soft skills of individuals , share real life scenarios and challenges in the field of internal audit  and train them for Certified Internal Auditor qualification. It is a consolidated program for 3 months and has numerous benefits like offering better job opportunities, increasing the number of UAE Nationals in private sector & increasing efficiency of UAE Nationals to work in Internal Audit.

Graduates from the program had great things to share about their experience and learnings from HASAAD.  Fatima Al Hamadi from Mubadala stated, “Before HASAAD I didn’t have enough experience in internal audit field, but after I joined HASAAD I can say that I have 99% experience. HASAAD has developed my skills and has made me more passionate about internal auditing. It has also built experience and knowledge that makes me feel I will achieve great success in future.”

Ahmed Sultan Al Shaya from NBAD said, “HASAAD Program is the only program in the UAE that will prepare the person to work in the field of internal audit with the help of concepts and educational opportunities for trainees. Amal Al Hantoobi from TABTRRD shared,I would advise everone who is interested in working  as an internal auditor to become a part of HASAAD Program as it has helped me establish my personal and communication skills that were needed to work as an internal auditor”

Mr. Abdulqader Obaid Ali, UAE IAA Chairman, expressed his views, “In accordance with the UAE Government Charter initiated by H. H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, UAE Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, the UAE IAA launched the HASAAD program which represents the basic need of providing qualification to young people to work in the field of internal audit in the right way. The program was developed to meet the need of institutions working in this sector and has been designed by more than 20 internal auditor and CEO combining their experiences and ideas in line with the internal audit departments”.

Mr. Ahmed Bassiouni, Managing Director at Protiviti Member Firm for Middle East Region, congratulated the young professionals, wishing them the very best in their career and said, “it has been an immensely satisfying association for Protiviti with IIA UAE as the exclusive sponsors to the HASAAD Program.
