The curious case of the fashion sneaker

Sneakers have long been a taboo for the fashion elite. However, in recent seasons, these trusty weekend staples are becoming increasingly commonplace, due to their clean lines, sporty appeal and unbeatable comfort.
ECCO’s new sneaker designs for Spring 2015 follow a relaxed, natural simplicity that is characteristically Scandinavian. Crafting premium leathers and materials into the classic sneaker profile with high attention to detail, ECCO creates a collection of earth-toned high-tops that will grow more character the more they are worn.
Evoking a sense of immediate comfort, rich, supple suedes and leathers are coupled with soft nude colours for women, along with cognac and dusted hues for men.
“This sneaker will achieve more character as you wear it. We chose camel leather, which contributes to the casual, Scandinavian, laid-back look that appeals to everyone,” ECCO Lead Designer Niki Tæstensen commented.
