Under the auspices of the Minister of Transport, Mr. Suleiman Alhamdan, Mr. Mohammed Tawfiq Madani, Director of Roads in Makkah region, inaugurated the 10th edition of the Luxury Motor Show (EXCS).

 The inauguration ceremony, as well, was attended by the head of the National Committee for Car Agents Mr. Faisal Abou Shousha along with a group of car dealers' executives in Saudi Arabia and the Middle East, and senior executives of the show sponsors, including Alahli Bank, Bridgestone Tires and Mobile 1.

 

EXCS have earned a global name after its success in establishing its name as the most important automobile show in Saudi Arabia and the Middle East specialized in luxury car marks.  The show edition of this year represents a unique event in view of the presence of senior executives of international automakers, including Mr.  Johan De Nysschen,  President of Cadillac and General Executive Vice President for General Motors, and Mr. Mike  Song, Genesis Head of Africa and Middle East Operations,

Abdullah Alshemasi, CEO of the organizing company expressed his delight with the opening of the 10th edition of EXCS, and said:" We, as the organizers of this important event, are so pleased to get to the 10th edition with great success, thanks to God Almighty and our partners. The show emerged from a small dream and became a reality, and turned into a benchmark in the exhibitions industry.

Meanwhile, Engineer Faisal Abou Shousha, head of the National Committee for Car Agents, stressed the strength of the Saudi car sector, and said:" It is not a secret to anyone that the automotive market has been through difficulties this year but continues to grow strongly and consistently. I assure you from here and from this event that the Saudi car market is strong, and we do hope that it will be stronger next year. Your presence and participation in this dynamic motor show always encourage us to give more and more."

 

The first day of the show was devoted to unveiling more than 10 of the world's most luxurious cars for the first time in the Middle East, whereby the show established itself as an optimal and ideal platform to launch these models, which enjoy high admiration among enthusiasts of luxury models.

As one of the main activities of the show, the winners of the show award in three main categories, namely "Best Luxury SUV Car",  "Best Super Sports Car" and "Best Luxury Sedan Car", were announced, and the winners were:

• Audi R8 V 10 received the "Best Super Sports Car" award
• Genesis G90 received the "Best Luxury Sedan" award
• Maserati Levante received the "Best Luxury SUV Car" award
