Tabuk artists paint biggest portrait of the King so far

A group of young artists here have painted what they claimed was the biggest portrait of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman so far to show their love and respect for the Saudi monarch.

Saudi artist Ali Al-Ghamdi said the painting depicted the King's face with the inscription "Long Live King Salman".

"I worked on this monument with artist Thunwa Al-Qaraani, illustrator Yousef Al-Jihani and graffiti artist Mohammad Al-Najdi. We launched it in the Al-Dar Darik Festival (the House is Yours Festival) in Dhibaa. We felt very proud when worked on the painting together," said Al-Ghamdi.

He added they wanted to create a monument that encapsulates the King's characteristics in record time.

"We wanted to reflect the amazing qualities of the Custodian of The Two Holy Mosques. We wanted to reflect his righteous spirit and determination to support Islam and combat issues that tarnish the reputation of the religion," said Al-Ghamdi.

He said the painting was finished in 12 hours.

"The painting is 6 meters long and 4 meters wide. It is the biggest monument for the King so far. It was actually Al-Qaraani's idea to do the painting and the rest of us jumped in. We sketched the idea and laid out the measurements," Al-Ghamdi.

He also said none of the artists hesitated to join the project because they all wanted to express their loyalty to the King.

Al-Qaraani said she was very proud of the outcome.

"I wanted to express our loyalty to the King. I was blessed with a very talented and cooperative team. We were harmonious in our vision, which helped us work smoothly for 12 hours to achieve the results. We dedicate the monument to the King and the Saudi people," said Al-Qaraani.
