Education Minister Azzam Al-Dakhil has announced that public school directors and deputies can only spend six years at one school, unless they have been recognized as top performers, or excelled in management for three years.

In a circular issued recently, he said that there would be a four-year limit for directors at private schools. They must then be transferred to other schools.
Owners of private school must nominate three candidates that it wants considered by the ministry for appointment. School committees can also make appointments.
The minister also decided that schools must elect new committees consisting of the director of education and his assistants for girls’ and boys’ schools, supervisors, teacher affairs officials, and school directors.

The committees would oversee the needs of schools including appointment of school directors.

including conducting personal interviews with candidates, reassigning them, overseeing transfer processes, and nominating them for training courses.
