Sharjah’s Most Impressive Firework Display Lights up the Sky at Al Majaz Waterfront in Celebration of the New Year

The longest firework display lit up the sky of the Emirate of Sharjah at Al Majaz Waterfront last night (Saturday) in celebration of the New Year 2017. Since the early evening, hundreds of thousands of families, tourists and visitors headed to Sharjah’s leading leisure, tourism and family destination to find the perfect location along Khalid Lagoon’s Corniche where they saw the spectacular New Year’s Eve firework display.

 

Synchronised to the music of the Sharjah Fountain, Al Majaz Waterfront’s key attraction, the fireworks lit up the sky before midnight, in preparation for the countdown to welcome the New Year 2017.

 

The spectrum of colours decorated the sky, attracting residents, tourists and visitors from far and wide. Khalid Lagoon’s Corniche was crowded to welcome in 2017, the Year of Giving and Goodness in the UAE.

 

Reservations to all restaurants and cafés along Al Majaz waterfront were full, with visitors booking well in advance to ensure the best vantage point to watch the spectacular firework display overlooking Khalid Lagoon, the Sharjah Fountain, Al Majaz Amphitheatre, Al Noor Mosque and Al Noor Island.

 

Nearby the firework staging point, Al Majaz Waterfront also witnessed a large number of amateur photographers as well as social media celebrities and enthusiasts of all nationalities and ages, capturing Sharjah’s dazzling celebrations and the first moments of the new year.
