SEDCO Holding Promotes Ministry of Labor’s Efforts in Volunteer Work and Community Service

SEDCO Holding Group recently participated in a workshop organized by the Ministry of Labor and Social Development to activate the role of the private sector in the fields of volunteer work and community service. The workshop aimed to promote specialized volunteer work within the objectives of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 to reach one million volunteers. The ministry invited SEDCO to participate in the workshop and share its leading experience in volunteer work and community service through the Badir volunteer program.

SEDCO’s volunteer portfolio was presented as a case study and its award-winning Badir program was praised by participants in the workshop, which presented the lessons learned from its success as an inspiring volunteer and community service program. The group was also commended for its various initiatives in this field.

Volunteer work and community service are part of the SEDCO culture as it encourages employees to donate their time to serve the community. To that end, the group launched several CSR programs for employees and initiatives for companies, which enhanced employee satisfaction and loyalty and helped increase productivity.

Through the Badir program, the group encourages employees to participate in several volunteer initiatives in conjunction with and outside of official working hours for no less than 20 hours per year. Badir seeks to activate the role of SEDCO Holding Group’s employees through general and specialized volunteer opportunities for the benefit of the community.

SEDCO Holding utilizes the skills of its volunteers to implement several initiatives, including the business clinics as well as SEDCO Volunteer Consultancy Day, where individual consultations are delivered to entrepreneurs along with enriching workshops that aim to increase their awareness in various areas related to their startup businesses. The programs also includes entrepreneur consultations and mentoring students for the job market. In addition, SEDCO also organizes quarterly initiatives, which includes SEDCO Volunteering Day, and the Journey of Giving Campaign, which includes a variety of volunteering opportunities throughout the month of Ramadan.

SEDCO Holding empowers its CSR initiatives with the support of several partners and entities in charity and endowment organizations, educational institutions, and business incubators and accelerators. In recognition of its leading CSR role, the group won the Gulf Sustainability and CSR Award for volunteer work and ranked second in this year’s International Business Excellence Awards (IBX) for its Riyali Program.
