Saudi Students on scholarship in the United States are demonstrating their passion for volunteering through transforming their experiences to the Kingdom to contribute to the development of the voluntary sector in accordance with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.

The Saudi Press Agency in Washington met with a number of business leaders on the sidelines of the 39th meeting of student volunteers of Saudi clubs in America.

Ryan Hazmi, president of the NGO “Hand in Hand”, which was launched in mid-2012, said that the organization was restricted to scholarship students in Washington and then extended its membership and services to include all US states.

“The organization has several new projects that keep pace with the Kingdom’s 2030 Vision to transform the volunteering concept existing in America to the Kingdom, with the aim of helping to bring about the quality of volunteer work. We started to work since the launch of 2030 Vision to form teams in America and in the Kingdom’s largest voluntary campaign to launch “Alley” that aims to convert neighborhoods to model areas,” said Hazmi.

With regards to other voluntary initiatives, Abdullah Al-Khalidi, director of public relations in the organization “Saudis in USA” says the organization was established to provide comfort to students through services and volunteer activities such as city and universities guides.

Cultural Attaché Dr. Mohammed Bin Abdullah Al-Issa said that the attaché and Saudi embassy support the unlimited voluntary work of students, which is adding a distinctive quality to the local community of Saudis in the US.

“Today, our sons and daughters paint a beautiful, bright and wonderful image about volunteering with the desire to transform the same image to the Kingdom,” he said.
