His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Sultan led the proceedings at an official press conference to celebrate the launch of Gamers8, the biggest Esports and gaming event worldwide. The press conference, held yesterday, July 13, saw Saudi Esports Federation executives welcome key partners and the wider local media community as a milestone moment was marked in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s esports and gaming history.
Attendees enjoyed an interactive first-hand preview of what will follow from Boulevard Riyadh City over the next eight weeks, as well as opportunities to speak with some of the leading figures behind Gamers8, including Turki Alfawzan, CEO, Saudi Esports Federation. Several keynote speeches and video presentations provided insights and information surrounding Gamers8, with pyrotechnics, confetti, music, lighting, and a fountain show all adding to the event’s vibrant atmosphere and overall success.
The summer spectacle includes several professional Esports competitions involving the world’s greatest teams and a total $15 million prize fund, as well as specially-built festival venues with various activities, live shows and performances starring local talent and international artists, and much more. The season’s first live show took place tonight as a star-studded line-up including J Balvin, Sebastian Ingrosso, Amr Diab, DJ El Fuego, and Salvatore Ganacci thrilled the Opening Concert audience.
