Saudi Arabian bikers rank first in Global Biking Initiative 2018

Thirty Saudi Arabian bikers ranked the first place in the Global Biking Initiative 2018 aimed at raising funds for charity and volunteering projects.

A total of 600 bikers coming from 30 different countries around the world also joined the Europe cycling tour.

The cyclists travelled 700 kilometers with their bicycles, from the Swedish city of Gutenberg to Hamburg in Germany, crossing multiple countries in one week.

The Saudi bikers joined the social initiative this year in a bid to encourage humanitarian and volunteering efforts in the Kingdom, to fulfill Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 for development.

Mohammad Al-Alian, the Saudi cyclists' team leader, said every participating team represented a charity project they aim to support and raise awareness about.

The Saudi team presented a project in collaboration with Sanad Charity Association aimed at supporting children diagnosed with cancer, and spread awareness about the illness and the significance of preventing the disease.
