Muvi Cinemas, the first nationally owned and operated cinema in the Kingdom, expanded its presence to Riyadh yesterday and welcomed its first audiences at AlHamra Mall. This Saudi cinema is operated by Next Generation Company and is staffed with outstanding Saudi talents.

The first Muvi cinema in Riyadh accommodates over 500 guests in 6 screens, offers seats for audiences with special needs and a concession area that hosts Skinny Pizza. Movie lovers can benefit from the location of the new cinema that is conveniently located on the new metro line opening soon in 2020.

The first batch of films that can be enjoyed in Muvi Cinemas’ AlHamra Mall with Arabic subtitles include Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, Jumanji: The Next Level, Frozen II, Dark Waters, Black Christmas, Arctic Dogs, 21 Bridges, Knives Out, The Addams Family, Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, Shihana and Countdown.

Muvi Cinemas will be opening its flagship location in Riyadh in the first quarter of 2020 at U-Walk. This location will feature 12 screens including the first Samsung Onyx Led screen in KSA, replacing the traditional projection technology. Samsung Onyx Cinema LED screens offer powerful, captivating and larger-than-life visuals, transforming the cinema viewing experience for cine lovers. This new technology will transform cinema viewing experience with HDR support offering unparalleled picture quality, and movie lovers will experience unparalleled picture quality, true colors and greater vibrancy and accuracy, exactly how the director intended it to be seen.

Next Generation Company’s management confirmed an aggressive expansion plan to launch 20 locations by end of 2020 across the region to offer unique and exclusive experiences for all guests and recruit and train more local talents.

The Saudi operated chain has signed a partnership deal with Arabian Centers which will see a network of film theaters established in malls in cities throughout the country. It will be followed by cinemas at Nakheel Mall in Dammam, the Mall of Dhahran and the new U-Walk boulevard mall complex, bringing the movie experience to eight Saudi cities. Muvi Cinemas opened its first location in Jeddah on 10 August, 2019.
