RAK DED holds Workshop for Leading Companies & Factories

Ras Al Khaimah Department of Economic Development (RAK DED) held a workshop on Thursday 27th October for leading companies and factories in the Northern Emirates at its headquarters. The workshop aimed to explain the Hannover Messe industrial fair and its benefits and encourage participation in it under the umbrella of the UAE Pavilion. 

The workshop was attended by key representatives from different industries and companies in Ras Al Khaimah who were introduced to the Hannover fair through several presentations. Imad Eddine Oubiri, Investment Promotion Director at RAK Chamber spoke about Ras Al Khaimah’s future business strategy and highlighted the capabilities and tangible assets of the Emirate, as well as the importance of participating in such an international fair to showcase them and attract new investors.

A second speaker was conducted by Dalibor Palus, managing director, Deutsche Messe, and representatives from Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development who spoke about the available opportunities at the Hannover Messe industrial fair, how participation in the UAE pavilion would be organized and the support that this would give in terms of marketing and ensuring a strong flow of visitors. Their presentation also included the UAE Ministry of Economy’s plans for 2017 which focus on SME’s and innovators.

Dr. Abdulrahman Al Shayeb Al Naqbi, Director General of RAK DED said: “We are pleased to have held this successful work shop in partnership with Abu Dhabi DED and RAK Chamber as we are confident that we have a number of keen local and international companies that interest to take part in Hannover Messe 2017. This is a great initiative that allows all the economic departments in the emirates to work together to get new industries and international companies join to UAE, and to help businesses in the UAE meet major European industrial companies, to explore possibilities to expand industrial activities, and avail themselves of the best technical solutions and high-tech innovations in their particular fields.”

Hannover Messe is the world's largest trade fair for industrial technology. Each year it welcomes a huge number of international exhibitors to its grounds in Hannover, the capital of the German federal state of Lower Saxony. The exhibition venue covers around 496,000 square meters and has 27 halls and pavilions. Specialized in all aspects of industrial technology, Hannover Messe showcases the core areas of industry, automation, and new trends and products, among others, and accommodates around 6,200 exhibitors and 250,000 visitors on average. It was first organized in 1947 in the town of Laatzen south of Hannover.
