Qatar's IWED 2016 showcases latest trends in wedding services!

It is spring time, a popular season for weddings and wedding preparations in the Middle East. For the past nine years, Qatar Expo has been organizing in Doha its signature wedding exhibition IWED. The ninth edition IWED 2016 will be held at Katara Hall from April 26 to 30.  

More than 70 exhibitors from Qatar, the GCC and India will showcase the best wedding products and services in Doha. Potential customers and businesses from Qatar and the region with keen interest in bridal industry will have the opportunity at IWED 2016 to meet top fashion designers, caterers, wedding planners and travel agencies offering competitive honeymoon packages during the five-day exhibition.  

The event also aims to give prospective newlyweds a chance to meet wedding professionals and consultants in a one-stop shop venue. 

Speaking about the event, Mr. Hadi Alzain Ali, Qatar Expo Chief Executive Officer said “IWED 2016 has become an international destination showcasing the latest trends in global wedding industry for all people in the Qatari society. We are keen to  host this event annually in Qatar because of the high demand we have encountered from the public for specialized wedding services and the continuous growth in the wedding industry. At Qatar Expo, we will do our best to support the wedding services market as part of our contribution to help local businesses to find suitable partners and the potential brides and grooms to find their needs locally at affordable prices.”    

This year, the exhibition is privileged to have the generous support of prominent sponsors: Katara and Regency Hall as the event main host sponsors; Damas – the luxurious jewelry provider – as diamond sponsor, Eventik as the Catwalk provider, the first and the only Spanish hotel in the country Melia Doha as the IWED’s Official Hotel Partner, while the Marriott Marquis City Center will provide in line with catering services, Frames Salon to be the Exclusive Beauty Partner and lastly, covering the whole exhibition will be Tasweer Productions. 

We also managed to attract selective public relations and media partners including Foresight Communications, Glam magazine, Ohlala magazine, Arabia Weddings, Swiss Tech Company and Q-Tickets for online registration. Our formal Freight forwarder is Airlink , car services and limousine will be provided by Regency Fleets, and Seqlia Ex as our official stand contractor.

Mr Hadi also added that "in the last day of the exhibition, Katara Hall will run a prize draw for a free wedding ceremony.The lucky winner will be selected randomly from the list of registered visitors attending the exhibition this year. Qatar Expo and Katara are both working on the legality of this draw with the concerned parties. 

IWED 2016 is an exhibition and a fashion show event. It is expected to attract thousands of local and regional visitors, and will feature a daily fashion show by famous designers in addition to entertainment programs and creative presentations.  

IWED exhibition has gained international reputation as a platform for wedding accessories and fashion shows in Doha. Over the past years, IWED has built a solid customer base and became the preferable destination for fashion designers, decoration galleries, weddings and accessories providers. It is set as a marketplace featuring the world 's best chefs, wedding photographers and videographers, facilities designers and decoration, beauty salons, hairdressers, wedding halls and banquet managers, in addition to all merchants providing traditional and modern style wedding activities.
