President of Saudi Camel Federation Unveils World’s Largest Camel Figure at Taif Season

His Highness Prince Fahd bin Jalawi bin Abdulaziz bin, Assistant President of the Saudi Camel Federation, today at Taif Season unveiled the largest camel model in the world, in the presence of His Excellency the Governor of Taif, Mr. Saad bin Moqbel al-Maimouni, and a representative from Guinness World Records.

Located in King Faisal Park, home of the Crown Prince’s Camel Festival, the 10-meter by 4.65-meter model stands on a steel base, and features over 51,000 lighting sources and geometric forms – marking it out both as a landmark and a cultural symbol.

The Camel Festival has already entered the Guinness World Records, with the first edition of the event being recognized as the largest such festival in the world, with 11,186 camels competing in 787 races. This year’s festival awarded total prize money of 53 million riyals, and featured unprecedented participation from Saudi Arabia, the Gulf states and other Arab countries.

The success of the festival has represented a major qualitative shift in the development of this ancient sport in its home country, strengthening its cultural aspects and contributing to national economic returns.

This success comes within the framework of the special care given by His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, to the camel sector to develop it in accordance with the Kingdom's ambitious Vision 2030 agenda.
