PCFC celebrates UAE’s 46th National Day

The Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation (PCFC), with its subsidiaries DP World, Dubai Customs, Trakhees, Dubai Trade and JAFZA, celebrated today (Tuesday 28th November 2017) the  UAE 46th National Day at Port Rashid under the theme “Dar Zayed, A Legacy of Giving & Prosperity”, in the presence of the heads of PCFC entities and around 1300 employees.

 

The celebration took place in a specially designed platform inside the historical Port Rashid, amid a sensational atmosphere marked by national and folk songs expressing the pride and patriotism of Emiratis, and their allegiance to UAE leadership, and the values implanted by Sheikh Zayed and other founding fathers.   

  

The festive event commenced with the National Anthem and included a number of functions such as the heritage village, horse show, pearl diving show, folklore dances, and a military parade performed by a group of customs inspectors.

 

A short film about the remarkable journey of the Union since the foundation and the successive achievements accomplished by the UAE as a pioneer of development and progress was also played.        

 

On this occasion, Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, DP World Group chairman and CEO & chairman of PCFC, extended greetings and well-wishes to His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai; and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces and Their Highnesses the Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates, and the people of the UAE.

 

 “This is an occasion all of us hold very dear, and we feel proud to come together today to celebrate the founding anniversary of the UAE which started a perpetual journey of building and  achievement to become a role model for development and progress worldwide,” said Bin Sulayem.

 

 “Thanks to the farsighted, futuristic vision of our leaders, the UAE is actively engaged in leading the global development to ensure major achievements in the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Through sound strategic planning aimed at full implementation of the UAE Vision 2021 objectives, our nation is advancing surely and steadily to meet the goals of the UAE Centennial 2071 plan and its pioneering innovative initiatives. This ongoing development drive stems from a longstanding commitment to people’s wellbeing and happiness by stimulating human creativity and innovation and using the latest smart advancements and applications to meet the country’s sustainable growth requirements,” he added.

 

PCFC chairman further said: “In this heartfelt national occasion, we renew our pledge to the wise leadership to continue working to our full potential to accomplish greater achievements and further enhance our world-class development experience– on the pathway of reinforcing the UAE's regional and international position and upholding its active role in the global development, inspired by the fortitude of the founding fathers, and the positive energy and good spirit they have instilled in us to always give back. We, in the Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation and DP World, will continue working hard as one team to optimize productivity and maximize efforts to deliver the best to our customers with the aim of making them happier always.”

 

The 2nd of December, Bin Sulayem pointed out, is a key milestone of achievements, with great impact both locally and globally.  “The UAE has introduces to the world the best example of progress and development. May Allah protect the leadership and people of the Emirates, and bless this nation with continued security, prosperity and success.”

 

Ahmed Mahboob Musabih awarded the strategic partners from the private and public sectors who contributed to making the event a success, including Ministry of Presidential Affairs, Dubai Police, Dubai Civil Defense Department, Dubai Municipality, Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services, and Wafi Mall.
