Paris-Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi concludes the second Edition of its Career Week activities

: Following last year’s success, Paris-Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi organized the second edition of its Career Week activities, which started on March 5th and is concluding today March 9th on the university’s campus in Al Reem Island, Abu Dhabi. During this event, Sorbonne Abu Dhabi hosted a number of renowned experts in various fields such as law, human resources, economics, and others on a local and international level.

The Career Week event targets current students at Paris-Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi and the alumni as well. Priority objectives include, increasing awareness among students about the importance of career planning while they are still at the university, and providing the alumni who are seeking job opportunities in the UAE market, the chance to explore different options. Thirty experts from over 20 different professional backgrounds participated in roundtables, seminars and discussions that took place as part of Career Week event to share their insights and offer career guidance to the students.

Eisa Al Raeesi, Head of Student Affairs at Paris-Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi said: “The Career Week is an exceptional opportunity for our students to acquire useful career strategies they can use as they plan for their future career. It is also the moment for our alumni to discover new career paths and learn about the variety of local and international companies present in the UAE market. Career Week also allows employers to interact, connect, and meet students from different backgrounds and qualifications. During the different sessions, our students showed that they are highly motivated and proactive which reflects their will to learn and develop their skills”.

Al Raeesi added: “At our university, student development in and out of the classroom is a first priority during their academic journey. Our goal is to continue to support their professional development throughout their professional careers after their graduation. We are proud to watch them growing and achieving what they have always wanted to do. This is exactly why we are always keen to listen to their needs and provide them with the best tools to succeed in their studies and their future careers”.

Khalid Al Ameri, Colomnist at the National newspaper said: “I had an awesome time speaking to the students at Paris-Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi about their lives beyond university. The world is changing faster than ever before, the way we work is chaining dramatically, and universities like Sorbonne Abu Dhabi that think about that as part of the student experience show that they truly care that their students are prepared to success in their lives and their careers”.

Career Week featured a series of 12 interactive presentations, networking events, employer panels, round table sessions and workshops with the participation of leading experts, specialists, ambassadors and international legal consultants from different disciplines.  These presentations were designed to help students discover strategies to plan gradually their career exploration, develop their job’ search skills, make better-informed choices, engage with industry experts and establish long-term connections.
