Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas on Wednesday awarded Jordanian singer Omar Abdallat the Order of Culture, Science and Arts the "level of brilliance".

During a meeting with Abdallat in Ramallah, Abbas said this award comes in recognition of Abdallat's role in enriching Arab art, and his tangible contribution within his musical project to supporting the Palestinian cause and the Palestinian people's rights in freedom and independence.

"I am honored by this award as a Jordanian, Palestinian and Arab artist from a President whom I'm proud to meet," Abdallat said.
