NWC launches application to improve water consumption

NWC has launched a new application to increase community awareness of the importance of saving water and taking the initiative to report leakages. The “Water Friend” application has been designed as part of the Company’s commitment to its corporate social responsibility policies.

NWC stated that customers can download the application from iTunes and Google Play. The application screen displays a brief description about its major components and functions in both Arabic and English. In addition, there are icons linking to services such as reporting problems with network leakages, meters, wastewater violations, water wastage and digging work.

The application has several advantages such as defining the location of the problem, uploading an image, and an explanation of the reported case. Once a report is submitted, the application sends the information to a database that is connected to field teams for further action.

NWC said it considered Water Friend as a new channel to make contact with its customers easier and more flexible and provide them with round-the-clock services.
