Nakheel serves up a truckload of treats at The Boardwalk at Palm Jumeirah

The Boardwalk at Palm Jumeirah is gearing up for its grand opening in November, with a truckload of treats awaiting visitors to the island’s latest attraction, master developer Nakheel announced today.

Covering the entire 11km length of Palm Jumeirah’s protective crescent, the AED150 million Boardwalk will be home to around 20 food trucks – serving everything from fish and chips to falafel, and spaghetti to shawarma – the first of which are already open for business.

A Nakheel spokesman said: “The Boardwalk has transformed Palm Jumeirah’s crescent into a vibrant destination for fitness, leisure, shopping and dining, and is the perfect spot for cycling, jogging or a relaxed waterfront stroll. Our food trucks are the first component of this new attraction, which will be a big draw for residents and tourists on the island, and for the wider Dubai community.”

Accessible from 14 points along the existing sidewalk and on the doorstep of an array of world-famous resorts, The Boardwalk has been created by building over the rocks of the island’s breakwater. At six metres wide, it is more than double the width of the original crescent path.
