MYCONTENT & Licensing Dubai Concludes Today

MYCONTENT & the Dubai International Brand Licensing Fair, part of the 9th edition of the Big Entertainment Show, concluded their activities today after a course of 2 days at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre, that was marked with the participation of 80 companies from over 65 countries.

 

MYCONTENT is considered the only dedicated event in the region to meet content providers across all platforms. It has become the leading entertainment content and media marketplace in the MENA region.  It helps providers and producers to meet their current and new clients and buyers face to face.

 

Commenting about the event, Mr. Joseph Husseini, Head of Channel, MTV Lebanon said: “MYCONTENT is one of the leading international entertainment content and media marketplace in the MENA region. It is the place to go to discover innovative TV content, understand the market, and find co-producers.

 

From his side, Eng. Anas Al Madani, Vice - Chairman and Group CEO of INDEX Holding said: “IPTV is continuously developing in the region, which brings a need for new content formats. According to Google’s latest Connected Consumer Survey, the average person in the UAE owns now at least three connected devices at one time, streaming content or uploading ones.”

 

“MYCONTENT has succeeded this year in supporting operators in the region to source new content and underline the changing habits of the MENA viewers.” - He added.

 

From his side, Mr. Sherif Dahan, Regional Director, OTT Middle East & Africa for VUCLIP said: “Strong and reliable internet speeds are providing consumers access to unlimited quality content, anywhere and anytime. This trend is steadily evolving into a way of life for digital citizens who seek to watch premium video content with unbeatable viewing experience at their own convenience. This shift in preference has spurred a significant change in video consumption habits, giving Video-on-Demand platforms such as Vuclip, a favorable opportunity to drive high-quality video content.”

 

“On the other side, the panel discussion “Second Screen the Future TV Experience” provided us a perfect opportunity to share best practices on how video-on-demand platforms can leverage the changing viewing habits of the consumer to maximize content monetization and capitalize on the thriving consumer demand.” he added.

 

Running parallel to MYCONTENT, The Dubai International Brand Licensing Fair (Licensing Dubai) highlighted various properties and brands. The event witnessed a remarkable participation from Arabian Licensing Company, Mondo TV, and M4e, among others.

 

Commenting about the licensing industry, Eng. Anas Al Madani said: “Dubai is still the ultimate destination for business and that is due to its strong economic activity in various sectors and the ease of doing business, which is reflected in the growth in licensing transactions. According to The Department of Economic Development, DED, a total of 119,630 transactions were done during 2016, which was 34.9 percent higher than 88,688 transactions carried out during the same period of the previous year. ”

 

Eng. Anas Al Madani continued on saying: “Dubai International Brand Licensing Fair featured this year a variety of brands and properties which allowed key retailers, distributors and manufacturers from the MENA region great opportunities to network with one another and secure successful licensing deals.”
