Majid Al Futtaim’s Mall of the Emirates and City Centres Deira, Mirdif, Me’aisem, Al Shindagha and My City Centre Al Barsha will spread the Spirit of the Union as the 45th UAE National Day draws near. The five malls will host cultural events that showcase the UAE’s proud heritage, in addition to fun family activities and first time experiences to unite in spirit.

“UAE National Day is a time to reflect upon the great achievements of the nation and this year, Majid Al Futtaim’s five City Centre malls in Dubai and Mall of the Emirates have united to host an exciting program embracing the Spirit of the Union,” said Fuad Mansoor Sharaf, Senior Director – Property Development, Shopping Malls for Majid Al Futtaim. “With the vision of creating great moments for everyone, everyday, we encourage families and friends to visit the malls during this memorable period, as we come together to commemorate the pride of the nation.”

From November 25 to December 3, Mall of the Emirates and City Centres Deira, Mirdif, Me’aisem and Al Shindagha will be transformed into entertainment hubs, each with specially curated schedules of exciting live concerts, roaming family entertainment as well as winning opportunities. The malls will display a grand flag themed décor of light curtains throughout key areas transforming its exterior and interior into a National Day spectacle. Additionally, mall retailers will host incredible National Day sales, offering between 30% to 90% off selected items.

Below are the details of each mall’s National Day activities:

Mall of the Emirates

From November 25 –  December 3, Mall of the Emirates will host traditional yet original entertainment celebrating the iconic National Day.

 

 

The mall invites visitors to pose with the Iconic Live Arabic Statues, from Nov 25 – 26, and Dec 1 - 3, as a polaroid paparazzi will take pictures for people to take home. The live golden statues will be positioned at the mall entrances creating a truly unique experience. From Nov 27 – Dec 3, shoppers are invited to participate in constructing a massive monument with their names engraved into small blocks. The flag coloured blocks will be placed on a wall as a symbol of unity and togetherness.

On December 1, from 8pm, Mall of the Emirates in collaboration with DFRE and DTCM, will host Emirati celebrity Mohammed El Menhali live in concert.

At the mall’s South Galleria, on December 2 & 3, The Desert Tales, a live magical modern show produced exclusively for Mall of the Emirates, will reflect the traditional UAE through time, from Desert Wanders, Oil Discovery, Pearl Fishing, Dubai’s Growth and the finale in a Souk. The mall’s Central Galleria will come alive with the Live Souk show – an explosion of colour, music, dance and incredible costumes. A not to be missed theatrical expression of the UAE’s key historical moments! Mall visitors can see the show at 1:00pm, 2:30pm, 4:30pm, 6pm and 8:30pm at the South Galleria. 

On December 2 & 3, a speed painter will perform live, creating UAE inspired art using his quick artistry. Blink and you might miss it! Mall visitors can see the artist at work at 3:45pm, 5:45 and 7:45pm at the South Galleria. 

Additionally, mall visitors will be treated to complimentary scarves and flags.

City Centre Deira and City Centre Mirdif

On December 1, from 8pm City Centre Mirdif, in collaboration with DFRE and DTCM, will host Emirati celebrity Mohammed Al Shehhi live in concert. Mall visitors can also take National Day themed selfies at the National Day booth choosing entertaining backdrops and digital props, and uploading onto social media.

Additionally, City Centre Mirdif will mark National Day with entertainment for the whole family, including traditional dance performances, kids face painting and activities.

 

 

 

 

At City Centre Deira ‘Everyone is a winner this National Day’ at the custom-made National Day booth that withdraws gift cards and other instant giveaways.

From Dec 1 – 3, mall visitors will be treated to traditional Hariba, Liwa, Indeama and Ayalha dances, and complementary scarves. At City Centre Deira, Ayalha (Dec 2) and Indeama (Dec 3) performances will take place at 2pm, 4pm, 6:30pm, 8pm and 10pm; while Al Liwa (Dec 1) at 2:45, 5pm, 7:30pm, 9pm and 10:30pm. At City Centre Mirdif, Harbia and Liwa dances can be seen at 2pm, 4pm, 6:30pm, 8pm and 10pm; while Al Liwa at 2:45, 5pm, 7:30pm, 9pm and 10:30pm

City Centre Me’aisem and City Centre Al Shindagha

On December 1 – 3, at 4:30pm, 6pm, 7:30pm and 8:30pm, both malls will host roaming entertainment comprising of musicians, stilt walkers, juggler and mascots. A must see for the little ones!

Additionally, from December 1 - 3, the two malls will host a daily draw to win 2 Iphone 7’s. Shoppers who spend AED150 at City Centre Al Shindagha and AED200 at City Centre Me’aisem in any store in either malls are eligible for the draw.

In the Northern Emirates, City Centre Sharjah will also have a custom-made ATM that withdraws gift cards and other giveaways from mall retailers. Shoppers can take home National Day decorative scarves.

City Centre Ajman, City Centre Fujairah, My City Centre Nasseriya, My City Centre Al Barsha and Matajer Malls will be distributing themed giveaways at each mall and hosting traditional entertainment.

Social media fans can also engage in some fun UAE National Day activities, inviting fans to express and share their love for the UAE
