LEGOLAND® Dubai Brings Recreation of Saudi Arabia’s iconic Makkah Royal Clock Tower at MINILAND

LEGOLAND® Dubai, part of Dubai Parks and Resorts, the region’s largest integrated theme park destination, has unveiled a LEGO® model of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s iconic Makkah Royal Clock Tower at MINILAND - one of its most highly anticipated attractions.

Created using 119,614 blue, yellow, and green LEGO bricks, the realistic tribute weighs approximately 269 kilograms and took 1,597 hours to build.

Aside from being one of the tallest buildings in Saudi Arabia since it opened in 2011, the Makkah Royal Clock Tower has the world’s largest clock face and is the fourth tallest free-standing structure in the world.

The model’s home, MINILAND, is one of six themed areas in LEGOLAND Dubai, and also includes the recently revealed Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque and Taj Mahal LEGO models.

Upon opening, LEGOLAND Dubai will include more than 40 rides, shows, attractions and LEGO building experiences, as well as 15,000 models made from 60,000,000 LEGO bricks. The theme park, along with its neighbouring LEGOLAND Water Park will become the only attractions in the Middle East specifically designed for families with children aged 2-12.

The first ever indoor air-conditioned MINILAND in a LEGOLAND Park– will feature recreations of Dubai’s iconic skyline and key attractions from around the region made with 20 million LEGO bricks. This interactive area will also have a Build a City feature, a ten metre play table where families can create their own city skyline with white LEGO bricks.

LEGOLAND Dubai, together with LEGOLAND® Water Park, is part of Dubai Parks and Resorts which will also feature MOTIONGATE™ Dubai – a unique theme park showcasing some of Hollywood’s most beloved characters from DreamWorks Animation, Sony Pictures Studios and Lionsgate. Committed to bringing together the best of the East and West, Dubai Parks and Resorts will also feature Bollywood Parks™ Dubai, the first ever theme park based on the sights and sounds of Bollywood. The entire destination will be connected by Riverland™ Dubai – a retail, dining and entertainment walkway and guests can stay at the Lapita™ Hotel, a Polynesian-themed resort catering to families. Expected to open in late 2019, Six Flags Dubai will be destination’s fourth theme park and the region’s first Six Flags theme park.
