KSU in skills upgrade tie-up

King Saud University (KSU), which is in the vanguard of academic excellence in the Kingdom, this year tied up with the University of Waterloo, Ontario, Canada in order to develop the skills of its faculty members.
Commenting on the program, a media department official at KSU said: "The deanship of skills development recently organized an external courses program for its faculty members this summer."
"As KSU conducts such types of programs every year to learn new instructional technologies, this year’s learning technologies' program was held at the University of Waterloo in Canada and was attended by 28 male and female trainees among KSU faculty members," an official at the media department said Thursday.
He added that these short-duration courses are organized under an exchange and transfer of expertise program with international universities, which is a reflection of the deanship’s continuing efforts to develop the capabilities and skills of KSU faculty members for academic excellence.
KSU will also represent academia from the Kingdom at an international polysomnography (sleep studies) workshop in Dubai later this year.
KSU, along with King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM), ranks high among Arab universities in the QS World University Rankings, an annual university ranking system published by the Quacquarelli Symonds of the United Kingdom.
