There are an estimated 21 million Internet users in the Kingdom, according to data released by the Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC).
According to the report, Internet penetration in the Kingdom stands at around 66 percent, a result of the increased use of social media and other services online. Many users are seeking better speed and bigger load capacities, the report said.
Demand is likely to increase over the next few years due to the availability of fiberoptic networks with higher speeds, the CITC said.
