KSA becomes member of ACSAD’s executive council

Saudi Arabia has been elected as a member of the executive council of the Arab Center for the Studies of Arid Zones and Dry Lands (ACSAD) for the next two years, at the 34th session of its general assembly held in Cairo.
The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Egyptian Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation Dr. Ezzeddin Abu Setit and it was attended by a number of Arab ministers of agriculture, the Arab League, and Saudi Undersecretary for Environmental Affairs Dr. Osama bin Ibrahim Faqiha on behalf of the minister of environment, water and agriculture.
The meetings discussed issues related to works and activities of the center, as well as the joint Arab work toward achieving sustainable agricultural development and maximizing the use of the center and its efforts in implementing important projects, activities and studies. During a meeting with the ACSAD chief Dr. Rafiq Saleh, the Saudi officials discussed ways to increase cooperation between the Kingdom and the center.
