King only Arab on Business Insider’s power list

Business Insider has chosen Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman as the only Arab on its list of the most powerful 50 people in the world. Its website said King Salman was chosen for his personality and influence in the Middle East, as well as his position as ruler of Saudi Arabia.
The website said that the king’s decisions have contributed to the direction of global industries and the future of the region.
King Salman, ranked 31st, surpassed even UN Secretary-General who ranked 40th, and South Korean President Park Geun-Hye, who ranked 42nd.
The list placed US President Barak Obama in first place, followed by Chinese President Xi Jinping, then Russian President Vladimir Putin. German Chancellor Angela Merkel came fourth, British Prime Minister David Cameron 11th and French President Francois Hollande ranked 12th.
Meanwhile, the Independent published King Salman’s Nov. 16 speech delivered at G-20 summit in Antalya. The article valued King Salman’s call on world countries to join the UN to fight terrorism, highlighting that the Kingdom donated $110 million to support activities to enhance global efforts to fight terrorism.
