Kansai Paint Opens its First Design Centre in Jeddah

Kansai Paint, the leading Japanese paint and coatings manufacturer, today launched its first design centre in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The experience centre will offer design, colour, lighting and space design support for homeowners who seek a one-stop-solution where they can get an interior design consultation as well as certified paint applicators to finish the job. The showroom, located on King Abdulaziz Road (Malik Road), was inaugurated by Matahiro Yamaguchi, the Japanese Consul General in Jeddah, in the presence of Ameer Hamza Hasan, Middle East CEO, Kansai Paint. Also present at the opening were Syed Abdullah Hasan, Regional Marketing Manager, Kansai Paint Shehryar Ali Khan, Saudi Business Manager, Kansai Paint and Deema Khiami, Design Centre Manager, Kansai Paint.

The Kansai Paint launch comes in line with the Saudi government’s US$ 29.9 billion spend on construction projects in 2016, which is predicted to be at similar levels in 2017*. With the Saudi Vision 2030 and National Transformation Plan (NTP) 2020 announced by Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman, the Kingdom is expecting growth and investment into the country.

“We see tremendous opportunity in Saudi Arabia,” said Shehryar Ali Khan, Saudi Business Manager, Kansai Paint. “Homeowners within the Kingdom continue to want to renovate their space and we want to make sure that our fantastic offering enables them to easily transform their homes. As a business, we bring something unique to the Saudi Arabian market and our Japanese heritage ensures that we bring the best quality service to  customers. At Kansai Paint we believe that everybody deserves to have a beautiful home and we want to make the experience as simple as possible for them”

  • There are still positive expectations in the construction industry in the Kingdom and the business to consumer market continues to thrive as KSA is still leading the GCC in terms of the number of projects and the value of projects, which is why we have decided to open our first design centre in Jeddah to offer the best paint and design solutions to homeowners,” added Ali Khan.

The experience centre will focus on large displays, unique Italian textured finishes and expert colour consultations from Kansai Paint’s team of skilled interior designers. The showroom will display over 300 real samples available for homeowners and interiors designs to select from. The Japanese company is aiming to further expand their distribution network across KSA during 2016 and 2017.

Syed Abdullah Hasan, Regional Marketing Manager, Kansai Paint said: “Our vision is to become the most sought after coatings solution company in the GCC and making the decoration process enjoyable for homeowners is extremely important in delivering this. The paint market in the Middle East has been the same for the past 60 years making it difficult for homeowners to transform their living spaces, we want to make decorating simple, accessible and most importantly enjoyable. Creating beautiful showrooms, in easily reachable locations, where families can be advised by one of our design specialists helps us to achieve this vision. This is truly a unique concept within the Saudi Arabian market. It enables homeowners to feel comfortable in making choices which will transform the look of their home. Our truly unique high end Italian finishes and professional interior designers give the homeowner something special from Kansai”.

Kansai Paint has also recently announced its ‘Colour Forecast’ for 2017 in the GCC, which predicts the most commonly used colour themes by home owners, interior designers and contractors for the forthcoming year. The colour themes have been curated around four unique topics ranging from prominent features of the region to the varying inspirational phases of an individual’s life.

Warm, neutral, bright and simple colours are all included in the forecast and after extensive research, Kansai Paint was able to deduce the colour of the year, ‘in the mood’, based on the holistic neutral palette.

As a key industry leader in the paints and covering industry, Kansai Paint is aligning itself with the national agenda of sustainability, ensuring high quality and sustainable material is used throughout the products’ manufacturing process.. The colours used in the forecast are of premium quality UV-resistant water based acrylic roof and wall coating, with infrared reflective technology that also have a minimum total solar reflectance (TSR) of 30% and have less than 0.01 gram per liter in VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds).
