The 18th edition of the Jeddah Summer Festival “Jeddah Ghair” had a grand opening on Wednesday evening.

More than 50 cultural, recreational, shopping and sports events and activities will be held during the 30-day festival with the slogan of “Fun, Prizes and Shopping.”

The festival is being organized by the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI), in cooperation with the Jeddah Governorate, Jeddah Municipality and the Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage.

Several new programs and activities have been added to this year’s festival in view of the growing significance of tourism after the Kingdom’s adoption of Vision 2030.

Addressing the opening ceremony, Adnan Mandorah, secretary general of JCCI, said that the festival is expected to draw more than one million visitors and tourists from within the Kingdom and outside.

The festival, with a focus on shopping and entertainment, has become one of the biggest tourism events in the Kingdom.

Sponsors and the participating agencies were honored in the opening ceremony and it was followed by a variety of children’s performances.
The festival features several entertainment events including fireworks, raffle draws, folk art and concert performances, literary, scientific and sport events as well as shopping events and competitions.
