A tide of excitement will sweep over Jeddah’s seafront next weekend, as the all-electric street racers of Formula E bring their ‘Road to Ad Diriyah’ show to the Corniche from November 22-24.

 

Not only will you get a flavour of the 2018 ‘Saudia Ad Diriyah E-Prix’, the newest global sports event coming to the Kingdom on December 13-15, but also join a competition to win SAR 1,000,000!

 

Last weekend, the ‘Road to Ad Diriyah’ visited Khobar, where more than 6,000 people turned out for a weekend of fun activities and great entertainment. Now the show comes to Jeddah from November 22 to 24, where you can marvel at the 290km/h electric Formula E car that reaches 100km/h in just 2.7 seconds.

 

There will be plenty of feel good family entertainment to enjoy but to win SAR 1,000,000 you have to be ready to feel the thrill of blitzing around a Formula E circuit in a Gen2 racer. 

 

By joining the “ABB FIA Formula E Road to Ad Diriyah” esports championship, you will feel what real racing drivers feels when you command a SAR 250,000.00 professional racing simulator. 

 

With qualification rounds on-site at the Road to Ad Diriyah roadshows in Khobar, Jeddah and Riyadh, as well as online, the 16 best participants will be invited to Ad Diriyah to battle it out live during the ‘Saudia Ad Diriyah E-Prix’ weekend from December 13 to 15. 

 

The two winners from Khobar, Abdullah Al-Dousari and Faisal Al-Qahtani, will be excited to see what fight the locals of Jeddah give them.

 

The two best racers in Jeddah will join that final 16 in Ad Diriyah for the 2018 Ad Diriyah E-Prix, where they will take part in the Grand Final shootout for the huge cash prize.

 

The Road to Ad Diriyah roadshow is a spectacular day out in itself. Bavaria Zaman, who visited with husband Rashid Khan and kids Nawal, Daiin and Nashin, said: “I think it’s fantastic. The kids are running around and having fun.”

 

From Thursday November 22 to Saturday November 24, the ‘Road to Ad Diriyah’ will give Jeddah a taste of what the historical three-day festival of racing, live music, culture and entertainment that is set to take place in Ad Diriyah will be like. Set to be the biggest event of its kind in Saudi history, the E-Prix running from December 13 to 15 will surely be a massive hit.

 

The ‘Saudia Ad Diriyah E-Prix’ is the first in a 10-year partnership between ABB FIA Formula E and the General Sports Authority of Saudi Arabia (GSA) and the Saudi Arabian Motor Federation (SAMF).
