Jeddah gears up for ‘Eidna Kida3’ festival

Following the final days of the historical festival ‘Ramadanna Kida3’ in the district of Jeddah, the Eid festival “Eidna Kida3” (We celebrate our Eid like this) is set to run from the second day of Shawwal 1437 until the ninth day of Shawwal.

This eight-day festivities will be followed by the Jeddah Summer Festival that will continue until the 15th day of Dhul Hijjah during summer vacation, according to the Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage (SCTNH).
The 8-day Eid Al-fitr festival is organized jointly under the auspices of Makkah Gov. Prince Khaled Al-Faisal and Jeddah Gov. Prince Mishaal bin Majed, along with the Jeddah Municipality, Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI) and the SCTNH.
The Eid festival is being organized for the third time in a row and is a traditional form of Eid celebration. The event will provide a pivotal opportunity for the younger generation to understand their culture and traditions.
The festival will have family entertainment activities to help the family members enjoy Eid celebrations in one place, including folklore activities, art, comedic theater, musical programs for children, folk songs, poetry, shopping and historical events and cuisines at historic district Balad.
The Jeddah Summer Festival will continue to provide entertainment with a range of activities designed to attract visitors to Jeddah.
Adnan bin Hussein Mandorh, the JCCI secretary general, said that they are in the process of preparing for the launch of the Eid and summer festivals that will be one of the biggest tourism events of the year.
He said visitors will experience a new version of the Jeddah Summer Festival this year with a range of new tourist, sports, cultural and entertainment events that will be held for the first time at Jeddah’s shopping malls, parks, and beaches, he said.
Mandorh said that the executive committee of the festival held a number of intensive meetings in order to arrange the best entertainment activities for families.
He pointed out that the festival received great support from Prince Khaled Al-Faisal and Jeddah Gov. Prince Mishaal bin Majed, who is looking forward to keeping pace with the festival in line with the high expectations set by the Vision 2030.
He said the JCCI will make every effort to enhance the status of this event with tourist activities, and will carefully observe the development and regeneration efforts in the festivals in terms of providing Saudi tourism products.
