"Ithra” Unveils Winner of Ithra Prize for Arts at Diriyah Biennale

King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture “Ithraa” today announced the winning artwork of the 4th edition of the Ithra Art Prize, titled “E Pluribus Unum – A Modern Fossil”, at the inaugural Diriyah Contemporary Art Biennale.
Tunisian-Ukrainian artist Nadia Kaabi-Linke won the $100,000 Ithra Art Prize, for her artwork that sheds light on one of the impacts of the Corona pandemic, which cast a shadow on commercial flights around the world, and caused a decline in commercial air traffic, and highlights questions about how the humanity progress and economic growth are measured. This monumental work of 19 panels depicting a set of cracks on a banner bearing an arrow, a symbol associated with aviation and economic growth, stimulates a rethinking of priorities.
