International Students Turn to Zayed University at Najah

Expat students pursing undergraduate studies at Zayed University (ZU) was the highlight of this year’s Najah’s 13th annual exhibition; a leading Higher Education event in the UAE, running from October 30 to November 1 at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre.

 

Prof. Reyadh Almehadib, Vice-President of Zayed University, said, the University reputes as “One of the top five universities in the UAE and the 20th in the Region as per the QS Arab Region University Ranking 2020. Zayed University is one of two independently accredited institutions within the UAE. This accreditation is through the Middle States Commission on Higher Education, one of six regional accreditation bodies in the United States. At the disciplinary level, the College of Business, College of Technological Innovation, College of Arts and Creative Enterprises, College of Communication and Media Sciences, and College of Education, have all been accredited by their disciplinary bodies.”

 

Ruba Ramahi, Acting University Registrar, said that Zayed University welcomes all international students to join one of the regional leaders in educational innovation, research, and student leadership development. “Since 2011, ZU had been receiving international students from Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Eretria and other countries,” she said.  “The University offers undergraduate merit scholarships up to 50% for those obtaining a minimum of 95% and a score of 6.0 in IELTS or 80 in TOFEL iBT, after accumulating 12 years of school with 70% (or equivalent) average in academic subjects.”

"I loved the campus and the environment," said Jordanian grade-12 student, AlBatool Atmeh, from Al Manara School. Following her Emirates Standardized Test (EmSAT), which was recently held at the campus in Abu Dhabi. Atmeh approached the ZU corner at Najah and requested to enroll for the coming semester. "I liked the programs offered in the College of Communications and Media Sciences, as I wish to enter the world of mass media.

 

Shahana Shaji, India, Grade 11 student from Bright Riders School, seeks an accounting major, "Norms about Zayed University being local-students oriented is not valid, we were approached during the visit to Najah by ZU representatives and provided us with all the necessities to join the great Varsity." Additionally, Shaji's Classmate, Sara Atique Sayed, India, said that she applied to join the bachelor's degree at Zayed University for next semester, "I learned that ZU has great post-graduate programs, and they offer 10% discounts for ZU Alumni and up to 40% of tuition fees as a merit scholarship for though on the dean's list. I wish to continue my studies in Business Administration," she said.

 

Maryam Al Sayed, Egyptian, a grade-12 student from Al Dhabiania Private School, said that she's considering Zayed University's programs to pursue a career in Sustainable Energy. "The varsity's reputation is highly admired in the region, and the courses offered environmental studies and sustainability are matching my future career path."
