Huawei hosts Safe City Summit in Saudi Arabia

Huawei, a leading global ICT solutions provider, is sharing its global expertise in public safety to regional government audiences at its Safe City Summit 2016, being held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia today. The event will touch on many safety and security aspects that regional governments are addressing while highlighting solutions that empower civil and security departments to deal with safety challenges that arise from rapidly expanding cities and populations.  

 

Huawei will cover a wide range of public safety threats drawing from its extensive global experience where its solutions are critical to the public safety and protection of over 400 million people in more than 100 cities across 30 countries.  Huawei will demonstrate its leadership in safety prevention and response across four key areas which include social security and unrest, accident disaster, public health and natural disaster. 

 

“Governments across the Middle East and here in the Kingdom are voicing demands for improved public safety and are looking into various technology-driven initiatives that enable them to not only respond to an emergency situation efficiently, but also have threat prevention capability before an incident takes place,” said Mohammad Allataifeh, Director of Public Safety and Safe City at Huawei Middle East. “Huawei’s global experience and broad ICT portfolio enables governments to elevate their capacity to perceive public threats and empowers them with access to sophisticated tools for command, control, communications and data computing. By leveraging intelligent technology solutions that provide a visual, multi-faceted view of a city’s safety systems, governments are able to reduce crime and create a more secure environment for living, doing business and attracting tourists.

 

Huawei will be showcasing its portfolio of Public Safety solutions drawing from its experience in building Safe City infrastructures for the government sector. Using advanced technologies like high definition video surveillance, broadband trunking, Multi-media dispatching, intelligent analytics to increase situational awareness of emergency service agencies will also be demonstrated at the exhibition. 

 

In today’s cities, Emergency services, security personnel and private sector organizations require intelligent and secured ICT solutions and video analysis technologies to ensure public safety. Huawei has partnered with global security specialists to provide a portfolio of end-to-end public safety solutions that allow government and private sector organizations that address Safe City requirements to overcome the biggest challenge of sending the critical information to the right people in the correct departments at the right time in the right way. 

 

Under the umbrella of Huawei’s Public Safety technology portfolio, Huawei offers its Safe City solution, which comprises of six main solution offerings: Convergent Command Center, Cloud-Based Intelligent Video Surveillance, Smart Road Safety, 4G Mission-Critical Broadband Trunking, Agile Communication Network and Secured Cloud Data Center solution. Huawei has deployed Safe City solutions across the globe in countries like UK, Netherlands, Russia, Turkey, Kenya, Egypt and China to name a few.
