HRH Prince Abdulaziz Bin Salman to deliver Ministerial Address on May 16 at MPGC 2022

Jointly hosted by Ministry of Oil, Bahrain, The Bahrain Petroleum Company (Bapco) and nogaholding, the 29th Annual Middle East Petroleum & Gas Conference (MPGC 2022), organized by Conference Connection being held in Bahrain at the Four Seasons Hotel Bahrain Bay on May 16-17, is rapidly gathering steam. High level Ministers, super major CEOs, top Wall Street analysts, oil and gas visionaries, global traders, refiners and other industry specialists have confirmed their participation in person, although the conference will also provide the option for speakers and delegates to attend virtually.

 

MPGC will commence on May 16 2022 with the Official Opening and Ministerial Addresses, to be graced and delivered by His Excellency Shaikh Mohammed Bin Khalifa Al-Khalifa, Minister of Oil, Kingdom of Bahrain, and His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz Bin Salman, Minister of Energy, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. His Excellency Abdulla Jehad Al Zain, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Dr. Abdulrahman Jawahery, CEO of hosts Bapco are also expected to be present together with other VIPs.

 

The opening session will also feature the eagerly awaited annual MPGC 2022 Crystal Ball to be delivered by Co-Chair Dr. Fereidun Fesharaki, followed by Keynote Addresses on the future of the energy markets delivered by, BP plc’s SVP for ESG transformation, Mr. Alan Haywood, TOTSA TotalEnergies’ President of Trading and Shipping, Mr. Thomas Waymel and Vitol Asia’s President, Mr. Mike Muller.

 

The overarching MPGC 2022 theme “Diverse Perspectives: Transitioning Towards a Carbon Constrained World” will find its way into ten agenda sessions, including a first-time panel on Future Fuels and Energy Transition. The trajectory of crude oil prices, the challenges to supply and production as well as the path to energy transition are expected to dominate discussion in equal measure.

 

Highlights of discussions on the first day of MPGC on May 16, 2022, will by popular demand, include the MPGC “All-Star” Analysts Panel with the global heads of research of leading commodity houses. To be chaired by Dr. Jeffrey Brown, President of FGE, panelists include Dr. Edward L. Morse, Global Head of Commodities Research of Citigroup and Dr. Paul Horsnell, Head of Commodities Research of Standard Chartered.

 

The closing session for May 16 “MPGC Hard Talk and Dialogue” to be moderated by Mr. Dave Ernsberger, Global Head of Content and Market Insights, S&P Global Platts, will provide insights on the Middle East pricing and trading transformation, with oil and product traders from Bapco, ICE, Vitol and the DME. The day will close on a fitting note with the MPGC 2022 Gala Dinner to be hosted by Bapco.

 

Continuing on Day Two May 17, 2022 will be debate and dialogue on LNG Trading, the Refining Landscape, and the Energy Transition Panel, which will address the prospects for the oil and gas ecosystem shifting to a lower carbon future. ADNOC LNG, Shell LNG Marketing, BP IST Middle East, TotalEnergies Gas & Power, Cheniere Marketing, Bapco, Tecnicas Reunidas, Samsung Engineering, Technip Energies, Vitol and S&P Global Platts are expected to participate.

 

As an iconic event on the global oil industry calendar, MPGC 2022 is expected to enjoy strong representation from its loyal ranks of alumnus, first timers keen to experience MPGC, with high visibility from regional players, NOCs/IOCs and traders, especially from Saudi Arabia and Bahrain.

 

MPGC is the longest running annual oil and gas conference in the Middle East and more than 450 global brands have supported the event in its 29-year history. Also being held alongside are MPGC Week 2022 events, running from 15 – 19 May 2022, which will bring together three executive briefings and technical workshops, with MPGC as the anchor event. These will run back-to-back in the same week, delivering extensive learning, knowledge sharing and networking opportunities to the MPGC community.
