In the lead up to the UAE 47th National Day celebration, Emirates Foundation, the national organization set up by the Abu Dhabi Government to facilitate public-private funded initiatives for the empowerment of youth across the UAE, announced today the launch of a ‘Volunteering Awareness Campaign’, honoring the legacy of the UAE’s Founding Father in the Year of Zayed with aim to spread awareness across the community about the importance of volunteerism and community service.

 

Held in conjunction with the National Day celebrations organized by the Municipality of Abu Dhabi, the ‘Volunteering Awareness Campaign’ brings to life the spirit of service to the nation and the importance of giving, by engaging the hearts and mind of UAE youth across the nation.  It further reflects Emirates Foundation’s efforts in mobilizing youth volunteerism and encouraging them to take a more active role in community service.

 

The Campaign will include a wide range of community activities to be organized by Emirates Foundation Takatof Social volunteering program and Volunteers.ae, the nation’s largest volunteering network launched in partnership between Emirates Foundation and the Ministry of Community Development. These include a series of experiential and entertainment activities for youth revolving around building awareness and interest in volunteering efforts. 

As part of the campaign’s kick-off, Emirates Foundation celebrated distinguished success stories of Emirati Youth from across different programs including those who have taken part in the Formula 1 2018 along with other youth whose dedication and commitment have had a positive impact across the UAE. The celebration was attended, and Youth were acknowledged by His Excellency Sheikh Sultan bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, Managing Director of Emirates Foundation and Maytha Al Habsi, CEO of Emirates Foundation. 

 

Speaking on this special occasion, His Excellency Sheikh Sultan bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, Managing Director of Emirates Foundation said: “Since the inception of Emirates Foundation, we have continued to solidify our commitment to guide and inspire the youth of the UAE through a rich and diverse portfolio of programs aiming to create measurable social value and delivering a permanent and positive impact for youth and society.”

 

 

In this year, the Year of Zayed, we are proud to honor Outstanding Emirati Youth today who are walking in the footsteps of our founding father by honoring his selfless spirit. They are true role models for our nation, having demonstrated dedication, an inspiring sprit of service, commitment, fully attuned the needs of their communities. 

 

His Excellency further concluded: "‘Volunteering Awareness Campaign’ encourages youth to a make positive and tangible contributions to our community. We believe in the inherent ability of youth to be the catalysts for positive change and the realization of our nation’s ambition.”
