Hilton Hotels in Ras Al Khaimah Celebrate Hilton’s Annual Global Month of Service

17 November 2016 In celebration of Hilton’s annual Global Month of Service throughout October, Hilton’s hotels in Ras Al Khaimah volunteered with RAK Public Works and RAK Autism Centre. Hilton Ras Al Khaimah Resort & Spa, Hilton Al Hamra Beach & Golf Resort, Al Hamra Residence and Village hotels, Waldorf Astoria Ras Al Khaimah, DoubleTree by Hilton Resort & Spa Marjan Island and DoubleTree by Hilton Ras Al Khaimah were involved in the projects.

For nearly 100 years, Hilton has seen a world that can be made better through genuine hospitality. This passion for hospitality drives everything Hilton teams do, creating a positive impact in communities around the world. The efforts in Ras Al Khaimah are a part of Hilton’s month-long celebration recognizing the company’s year-round commitment to serving and enriching the communities where teams live, work and travel.

The first project was a cleanup around Sheikh Saqr Palace, the former ruler’s home and one of the oldest buildings within the community.  Over 100 hotel Team Members worked with the Ras Al Khaimah’s Public Works Department to clear refuse from the beautiful location.  Within four hours, the teams managed to clear over 31 tonnes of waste that was then disposed of correctly by the Public Works Department.

The second project focused on the Ras Al Khaimah Autism Centre, a non-profit organization that opened in 2006.  A fun packed morning involved interacting with children, completing engineering works to provide a working swimming pool, supplying equipment for the centre’s gym and cleaning the centre and it gardens.

Mahmoud Mokhtar, Country Manager, Ras Al Khaimah, said, “We are delighted to have partnered with RAK Public Works and RAK Autism Centre for Global Month of Service.  Our aim was for Hilton Team Members to impact their local community through volunteer projects. We are pleased to have helped clean up the area under Sheikh Saqr Palace, and to have had the chance to work with children at the RAK Autism Centre.”
