H.E. Dr. Salem Al Darmaki, Advisor to the UAE Minister of Health & Prevention, inaugurated today the fourth edition of the Dubai Otology Conference and Exhibition, which is held at the Mohammed Bin Rashid Academic Medical Center in Dubai Healthcare City.  

 

After the traditional ribbon-cutting ceremony, H.E. Dr. Salem Al Darmaki, accompanied by a number of officials, heads of delegations, and top-notch specialists and speakers, toured the exhibition area and explored the break-through technologies, medical devices and equipment used in the field of otology and neurotology.

 

 On the sidelines of the opening ceremony, H.E. Dr. Salem Al Darmaki stressed on the ministry's support for such conferences because of the great role they play in facilitating the learning experience and sharing of knowledge in this specialized field. He also praised the great efforts put for the success of this conference and exhibition.

 

From his side, Dr. Ahmed Al Amadi, Consultant Otologist & Neurotologist and Medical Director at Al Baraha Hospital, and the Dubai Otology Conference Chairman said: “What makes this edition of Dubai Otology conference different from the previous years is the inclusion of over 20 instructional courses in the program together with panel discussions and free papers. The instructional courses aim to bring our up to date knowledge with the latest developments in order to come up with the evidence based practice guidelines.”

Dr. Ahmed Al Amadi continued on saying: “The other new addition this year is our masterclass on head impulse test which is the latest innovation in the field of vestibular testing. This year we will be exploring the latest developments in cochlear implants and implantable hearing aids, new techniques in endoscopic ear surgeries and a full session on quality improvement and patient safety.”

Dubai Otology Conference & Exhibition is held under the patronage of H.E. Abdul Rahman Al Owais, Minister of Health and Prevention in the UAE, and will continue until 14th of October, 2016.
