GULF FOR GOOD TO HOLD FIRST-EVER LARCHFIELD BALL IN AID OF CHILDREN’S HOME IN TANZANIA

Charity Dinner on the British Embassy Lawn, Thurs 16 November

Larchfield and Gulf for Good will hold its first-ever Larchfield Ball in aid of Larchfield Children’s Home in Tanzania, on the lawn of the British Embassy in Dubai, on Thursday 16 November.

The charity evening, which has been approved by the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Affairs department (Licence No.495), will feature a welcome cocktail reception and a three-course dinner with music by Lucy Hunter-James, followed by a performance by renowned singer Layla Kardan and her band.

An auction and raffle later on in the evening is hoped to raise funds for Larchfield Children’s Home in Tanzania, a Gulf for Good-sponsored project being built for children who have been abandoned by their parents, either due to disease or death.

The charity, set up by a group of Tanzanian and Dubai-based individuals with links to the country, acquired more than 11 acres in 2011 at Mkuranga, some 60kms south of the capital, Dar-es-Salaam, on which to build the orphanage and school, in addition to a kitchen-garden.

The first phase of the project is due to be opened by the end of this year and will be home to 60 children. A further five phases are to be built on the site, which will welcome a total of 300 children.

Dubai-based Larchfield Co-Founder and Gulf for Good Board Member, James Berry, said: “The building of Larchfield Children’s Home in Tanzania has been a life-long dream of mine, giving back to the country where I was born and brought up and giving children a chance to have a safe and happy childhood.

“I’ve been supported tremendously by Gulf for Good and my fellow colleagues and would encourage like-minded people to join us at the embassy for an evening of entertainment and the chance to learn about how their contribution can make such a difference in the lives of these abandoned kiddies.”

The Larchfield Ball is on Thursday 16 November on the lawn of the British Embassy in Dubai. Tickets: AED600 per person or a table for 10 people for AED5,500. For reservations, contact: events@jamesberrylaw.ae

About Gulf for Good

We hear constantly that the challenges we organise make a huge difference to peoples’ lives. Obviously the recipients of the funds benefit enormously, but doing the challenge itself often turns out to be a life-changing experience for many challengers.
