Global greetings pour in on N-Day

Some world leaders sent greetings to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman on the occasion of Saudi Arabia’s National Day, while others wrote personal congratulatory letters to him, outlining their relations with the people and the leaders of the Kingdom.
The Gulf states were the first to congratulate and even celebrate the National Day in their own way.
The US, France, Germany, Italy, Pakistan, India, the UK, China, Turkey, Indonesia, Japan, Korea and Sudan, as well as several global and regional organizations sent congratulatory messages to the Kingdom.
In a letter to King Salman, Italian President Sergio Mattarella said that “ties between Saudi Arabia and Italy will continue to grow stronger in all aspects of mutual interest, for the good of the security and welfare of our peoples”.
In his message, German President Joachim Gauck said: “The relations between the two countries have been historically close and cordial.” He added that Germany is following the important economic and social transformation in Saudi Arabia in the context of Vision 2030 with particular interest.
Gauck stressed that his country “stands ready as a partner in this process of its implementation.”
Indian President Pranab Mukherjee underlined the “millennia-old cultural and economic exchanges” between the two nations, “underpinned by extensive people-to-people contacts.”
Mukherjee said: “On behalf of the government, the people of India and on my own behalf, it is with great pleasure that I extend warm greetings and felicitations to you and to the friendly people of the Kingdom.”
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi also extended his greetings to the Kingdom.
