GITEX Swiss Pavilion to Showcase Top IT Innovators

Visitors to GITEX this year will have the opportunity to meet with high-level executives from some of Europe’s leading IT innovation companies, says Switzerland’s top diplomat in Dubai.

Increased and active participation among Swiss IT companies at GITEX is seen as a sign, not only of the show’s continuing global attraction, but of Switzerland’s rapidly evolving culture of innovation and excellence in manufacturing and service provision in the IT sector.

“The world already knows of Switzerland’s leadership in precision instruments of all kinds, from watches to airplanes, as well as our commitment to innovation, as seen in our market leading pharmaceutical sector.  What few people know well is that Switzerland is also a growing IT innovation hub,” says Raymund Furrer, Swiss Consul General in Dubai and Head of the Swiss Business Hub.

Two Swiss companies taking part in the world’s third largest IT event are Tinext, a specialist digital marketing consultancy, and Magnolia, a digital business platform vendor. Tinext and Magnolia were responsible for the implementation of Al Arabiya’s high traffic multi-channel online news and broadcasting platform.

“The region’s private sector is moving so fast, that competitive companies must have an online presence that is differentiated, compelling, and, above all, up-to-the second in the accuracy of its content. However, according to a survey by Google, 75% of SMEs in UAE have not yet considered having a website for their product and services, while the figure is 65% in Saudi, and 61% in Egypt. Our participation at the Swiss Pavilion at GITEX will give us the opportunity to share our solutions to fill this gap with visiting executives from across the Gulf,” says Davide Guzzetti, Managing Director Tinext Middle East.

By better managing online content, regional businesses can reduce costs, raise efficiencies, and also create new business opportunities, says Guzzetti.

Stefano Zoia, Chief Executive of Tinext S.A. in Switzerland,  who will be at GITEX to meet with customers and prospects, said:  “We have experienced a 50% increase in regional prospects over last year. Tinext will double its investment in the region to meet growing demand.”

Dominik Steinacher, Chief Commercial Officer Magnolia International Ltd., says: “The rapid increase in digital adoption in the region means that there are unparalleled opportunities for companies to develop advanced digital business strategies. For example, mobile penetration in the Middle East is substantially higher than the global average, yet there is still huge potential for developing online offerings. This makes it more important for organizations to offer multi-channel experiences, and to have a strong digital business platform that enables them to develop web, mobile and IoT initiatives.”

By integrating the latest technologies, businesses can create compelling online and offline experiences for customers and stakeholders, adds Steinacher.

Tinext Middle East’s Dubai office builds bespoke technology solutions entirely around regional business processes and business needs, just as it has for nearly 1,000 other companies around the world, including Whirlpool, Sanofi, Bally, and Royal Caribbean, and Al Arabiya News Channel in the region.
