Gardner Denver showcases air quality and innovation at Gulfood Manufacturing

At this year’s Gulfood Manufacturing (7-9 November 2016, Dubai), Gardner Denver will be showcasing an extensive range of compressed air, vacuum and pressure technologies, designed to offer the lowest lifetime ownership costs as demanded by today’s food and beverage industries.

Companies investing in new compressed air or vacuum technologies will naturally be seeking a fast payback, coupled with total reliability and the highest air quality. Gardner Denver has therefore designed the stand (stand number Z2-A46) to demonstrate how choosing a single-source supply for all vacuum and pressure equipment can realise significant savings by lowering production costs, improving energy performance and streamlining routine maintenance.

Visitors to stand number Z2-A46 can view models from across its entire vacuum and pressure range, including the high-pressure Belliss and Morcom brand, proven in thousands of stringent applications worldwide for reliability, durability and performance, low pressure CompAir GD compressors for production and process air as well as downstream air treatment.

A highlight of this year’s show is the company’s onsite nitrogen generation system, which can reduce the cost of bought-in gas supply by up to 90 per cent. The company will also be demonstrating the Belliss and Morcom WH35 high-pressure compressor; one of the most power efficient PET compressors available on the market today. Exhibited for the first time at last year’s show, the machine has already proved its low energy costs and superior air quality to customers across the region.

Single source for food grade air

Commenting on the company’s commitment to lowering costs for the food industry, Colin Mander Regional Director from Gardner Denver said:  “Food and beverage manufacturers are under increasing pressure to reduce supply chain costs and when it comes to investment in capital plant and equipment for a site’s air demands, customers can realise significant savings by choosing a single source supplier that can provide comprehensive sales and service support.

“As a global manufacturer, offering both vacuum and pressure solutions for the food industry, Gardner Denver is well-placed to advise on where savings can be realised in the use of air across a production site. As a result, stand Z2-A46 will display models from across the company’s range including low pressure, food grade process air compressors to high-pressure oil free compressor systems, to pumps, blowers and downstream air treatment equipment - all designed to reduce energy consumption, improve productivity and lower cost of ownership.”

Belliss and Morcom WH35 high pressure oil free compressor

With its compact footprint and a capacity of 2,120 m3/hour at 40 barg, the three-stage, oil free, water cooled WH35 utilises a high-efficiency, water-cooled, 'shaftless' motor suitable for use with variable speed drives and options of air and heat recovery.

“Designed to meet the varying demands of an application at the lowest possible specific power, the WH35 reduces energy consumption significantly, while maintaining a constant working pressure”, says Trevor Perry, Sales Director, High Pressure Solutions.

“Supplying air up to ISO 8573-1 class 0 standard, the compressor unit is intrinsically oil-free with absolutely no oil present in any part of the compression process, thus providing maximum air quality with no risk of contamination.”

Gardner Denver nitrogen generation system

Stand Z2-A46 will include a working CompAir nitrogen generation system for the snack food market.

Typically, operators will purchase the nitrogen they require from a supplier, either as gas in small high-pressure cylinders or in liquid form, stored either in mini-tanks or in bulk storage vessels.  In the Middle East alone, this supply market is estimated at US£250 million and, with up to 97% of global nitrogen supply fulfilled by traditional gas companies, it clear that there is growing demand.

Gardner Denver’s new CompAir nitrogen generation system converts compressed air in to guaranteed-purity nitrogen. Pre-treated air from a standard industrial compressor is ‘sieved’ using carbon molecular technology to remove all oxygen and other trace gases, leaving the nitrogen to pass through to the application.

The space-saving, modular design is easy-to-install, meaning there are no expensive civil engineering works required and can be integrated with existing compressor installations to minimise capital expenditure. - saving operators up to 90 per cent of the cost of bought-in gas.

Low pressure compressors

Gardner Denver will showcase models from its proven GD and CompAir compressor ranges, including the GD ESM22 and the CompAir L75. Available in both fixed and variable-speed models, the compressors are designed for high energy efficiency, reliability and easy of use, ensuring long operating life and optimal air quality.

All products in Gardner Denver’s vacuum and pressure ranges are supported by a skilled team of food and beverage specialists, with local engineers offering installation, repair and planned maintenance tailored to the needs of each business.
