GAB collects SR9bn in revenue

The General Auditing Bureau (GAB) collected and handed to the Public Treasury SR9 billion during the last fiscal year.

This figure marks a four-fold increase from what was achieved in the previous fiscal year.

The information was contained in the 58th annual GAB report for the fiscal year 1438/1439 presented to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman on Tuesday.

The report deals with major achievements and performance results of the financial audit carried out by the Bureau during the last fiscal year.

The King received the report from GAB President Dr. Hossam Al-Anqari and a number of senior officials at Al-Yamamah Palace in Riyadh.

During the meeting, the King appreciated the efforts of the GAB staff, wishing them all success in their duties to serve their religion and homeland.

Speaking on the occasion, Al-Anqari said that GAB was asked to collect during the last fiscal year a total of about SR38 billion, almost double amount claimed in the previous fiscal year.

This substantial increase in terms of the collected amount reflects GAB’s professional performance, he said.

Al-Anqari noted that a royal directive had been issued earlier to provide the GAB with ownership of the rights to connect all agencies covered by the GAB’s control with the Electronic Monitoring System (SHAMEL).

Accordingly, the electronic link has already been made with about 100 government agencies free of charge and the work is progressing to connect remaining bodies under the control of the bureau.
